Salted Mocha Body Scrub-DIY

Christmas Eve is tomorrow which means 2 sleeps until Christmas morning! Most people are already home with their loved ones, off of work for the week, basking in holiday cheer, and, did I mention, scrambling to finish up their Christmas shopping? Oh shit...

I know one thing is for damn sure, you wouldn't catch me dead shopping for gifts the week of Christmas. That's like my own version of hell. There are those crowds of sleep-deprived women trying to find every item on their kid's wish list. Those last-minute stragglers (mostly men) that never seem to know what they're doing, especially how to push a damn shopping cart. And finally, there's the woman who finally reached the checkout stand only to run back into the chaos & snag that extra something she spent hours convincing herself not to buy. This, my friends, is the madness that is Christmas shopping.

Sometimes, "last minute" is my middle name and this year was no exception. The holidays are hard. Period. So a few days ago when I knew I needed to finish up a few people's gifts, I started to experiment with some DIY projects. In classic Pinterest fashion, about 4 of them failed before I conquered that one....and this one that is pretty damn bitchin' if I do say so myself.

With only 2 days left until Christmas, I've got you covered with one very chic last minute gift idea; Organic Salted Mocha Body Scrub....and the best part? You probably have all the ingredients already in your kitchen cupboard.

BOO-YA

This homemade body scrub has:

-coconut oil for moisture and hydration

-fresh coffee grounds that help firm and tighten while reducing cellulite

-brown sugar to exfoliate

-Himalayan pink salt for a smooth, vibrant skin tone

-and vani lla bean paste to add a hint of sweetness.

The best part is that it only takes 5 minutes! Add a cute little mason jar, some twine, a stylish gift tag, and you've got yourself one chic Christmas gift you'll probably want to keep for yourself.

INGREDIENTS: (all organic)

  • 1 c coconut oil
  • 3/4 c fresh coffee grounds
  • 1 c brown sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla bean paste
  • 1/4 tsp Himalayan pink salt

METHOD/USE:

Combine all ingredients in a food processor. Process on high for 1 minute, stirring every 15-20 seconds. Don't over process or else coconut oil will separate. Next, place ingredients in bowl and use a spoon to smash & mix until buttery texture is achieved. Place in jar and decorate as desired! To Use: take a small handful and scrub all over body in the shower in a circular motion. Let sit for 5 minutes before rinsing off.

Happy holidays <3
